Women Deliver, a global advocacy organization has announced the award of seed grants of US$5,000 each to 20 young leaders in 15 countries around the world. The grant will support a six-month project aimed at advancing girls’ and women’s health, rights and well-being in their communities, HealthJourno has gathered.

European Union extends ban on Nigerian beans for high levels of pesticides

The European Food Safety Authority had in 2015 banned some agricultural produce which included beans from Nigeria, citing that the rejected beans were found to contain between 0.03mg per kilogramme to 4.6mg/kg of dichlorvos pesticide, when the acceptable maximum residue limit is 0.01mg/kg.
