The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) caught a 55-year-old woman travelling to Saudi Arabia at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport (NAIA), Abuja, for alleged opiate ingestion.
The suspect, Basira Iyabo Binuyo, from Kwara State, who was going for Medina for pilgrimage has discharged seventy-six (76) pellets of cocaine from her bowels.
NDLEA officer at the Azikiwe Airplane terminal Abuja, Hamisu Lawan, said Binuyo is still under perception until she ousts all the ingested pellets of cocaine.
"Mrs Binuyo was captured amid the outward screening of travelers on an Emirate flight to Medina through Dubai. She has so far discharged seventy-six (76) pellets of medications that are positive for cocaine. In the interim, she is still under perception until the medications are totally removed."
In her statement to the NDLEA, the wedded mother of three and a merchant at Dosumu Market, Lagos, said she needed to extend her cosmetics business however had no cash.
Also, authorities at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) blocked a 37-year-old man from Imo State after he was found to have embedded seven wraps of cocaine weighing 355 grams in his butt at the MMI. He was captured amid outward screening of travelers on an Ethiopian Aircraft flight to Hong Kong, China through Addis Ababa.
NDLEA officer at the air terminal, Ahmadu Garba said that the associate, holds a double citizenship with Nigeria and Mali.
"He hails from Imo State yet was going with a Malian international ID. The name on his identification is Diara Sauduo while his Nigerian name is Okpalanem Henry. The case is under scrutiny."
The suspect in his statement said: "I realize that there is the death penalty for medication trafficking in China yet I was hopeful of safe entry. Shockingly, I was gotten with just seven wraps. Possibly that is my fate. I am hitched with three kids."
Administrator/CEO of the Organization, Col. Muhammad Mustapha Abdallah (rtd.) communicated fulfillment with the captures, expressing that it is a result of ingenuity and watchfulness.
