Man's body found lying face down in London's Hyde Park

Police have cordoned off an area about the size of two football pitches in Hyde Park, London after a body was found lying face down this morning, Friday August 12.

The death which is yet to be explained, happened near Speakers' Corner and an investigation has been launched into the 'serious' incident after the body was found near the iconic tourist attraction, at just a few minutes before 6 a.m. 

Passers-by claim to have seen a body bag and roughly 30 police officers investigating the incident .

 A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: "We have not launched a murder investigation, but we are treating this as suspicious." They added they are treating the death as suspicious, after being called by a member of the public who found the man suffering from fatal injuries. A spokesperson added: "This incident is being treated as suspicious.  "No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing."
