The Federal Ministry of Health at the commemoration of World Hepatitis Day 2016, revealed that over 20 million Nigerians are currently living with Hepatitis, with about 30 percent unaware they are affected and not taking necessary measures.
The Enugu State co-ordinator of the National Agency for Food, Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) Mr. Ikechukwu Okoye, has said use of unregistered and unverified drugs may be responsible for rising cases of kidney and liver diseases in the country.
The liver is a vital organ which means a person cannot survive without it. Liver works with other organs in the digestive tract to digest, absorb, and process food.
