Known for their dedication and work towards increasing awareness of taking care of children with special needs as well as erasing stigmatization, Lagos-based NGO, St Agatha's Special Needs Centre, is holding a summer bash for these special children.
In a personal note from the founder, Ms Akhere Aghedo, she solicits for funds from well meaning people as well as invites all those who can make it, to the events.
Her words:
"As we pull the curtain on July in a few days and usher in August, we are super excited about two great events coming up in the month of August.
"We have our Ajegunle Outreach and Food Feast on August 13. We haven't had any this year because we wanted to concentrate on our Special Needs Centre and to the glory of God it's up and running!
"As usual we'll appreciate donations (clothes, shoes, toys bags, raw food stuff, Toiletries, disinfectants etc) for our outreach.
"Let us know when and where to pick up your donations. If you would like us to purchase the items you can pay into our Fidelity account: Agatha Obiageli Aghedo Memorial Foundation 4011055577 stating the item.
"Our Special Needs Summer Bash comes up on the 20th of August at the centre in Satellite Town.
"We know that they rarely have access to summer schools and therefore miss out on all the fun. Some of them are always locked indoors for fear of stigmatisation. We want to enlighten the community that #DisabilityIsNotInability hence #NoChildShouldBeLeftBehind. Through this party we will be advocating for the #InclusionNotIsolation of these special angels.
"Please support/sponsor our party!
We hope to give them party packs ,food and ensure they have fun with your support, family and friends are invited!
"Call 08094423211, 08155571308 for enquiry on how to be a part of this great events.
Nobody ever got broke by giving.
"God bless and reward you as you remember the less privilege and special needs angels.
"Much love, Akhere".
