Kidney related ailment seems to be prevalent in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
A couple of Nigerian celebrities have been lost to this kidney related ailments and this has become a source for concern.
Among the celebrities lost to this now dreaded ailment are OJB Jezreel, Muna Obiekwe and Fred Ekata, and others. At the rate at which this ailment is claiming Nigerian celebrities, it is high time proper awareness be given to them on their lifestyle.
The toil of the nature of their work also contribute to this and as such, celebrities should take time to seek proper medical check up from time to time.

He is the producer and anchor of TV show on HipTV, The Gist, which discusses issues around the entertainment industry with key players including musicians, actors, writers, and sportsmen among others. Ugolee has taken it upon himself to create awareness about early detection of kidney related ailments and also care of the kidney.

Popular Nollywood actor Leo Mezie is down with kidney related illness. His condition is said to have reached an advance stage and needs urgent financial assistance to forestall the worst. It was gathered that the actor has been battling the ailment for several months on his own until things got to a head that when his second kidney was alleged to have collapsed. Mezie is known for his princely and armed robber roles among other roles.

Uche Veteran Nollywood actor, Prince James Uche has been battling hypertension, kidney and heart related illnesses since 2007. In 2012, Uche’s wife was forced to leave their matrimonial home because she could no longer cope with the burden of taking care of him and their three children.
Shortly after, he was served an eviction notice from his landlord to vacate his residence at 45, Yetunde Brown Street, Gbagada, Lagos. Uche currently needs N11 million to undergo kidney transplant abroad. Though the Filmmakers Welfare Organisation of Nigeria has inaugurated a “Save a Soul” intervention campaign, it has yielded little or no result to save the life of this actor. Uche was a former Vice President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN).
