Men who commit adultery could be sent to jail under a new law being debated by the Cameroonian parliament.
The law has the backing of President's Paul Biya's party, People's Democratic Movement and so has a high chance of being approved.
Women already face being jailed for between two to six months for having sexual relations outside marriage and men would face the same punishment.
Under the laws, an adulterous husband or wife could be dragged to court should there be a complaint from their partner.
Implicated adulterers would face up to six months in prison or get fined up to $175.
