Images: This Indian school admitted 28 sets of twins

The school held a special day for all the twins

Cramford English Medium High School, in Andhra Pradesh state, India, has 28 sets of  twins aged between four and 16 on its campus.

Among the twins, there are 10 pairs of girls, 12 pairs of boys, while six pairs are mixed in the school of 1,070.

The school decided to celebrate this unique feat and organised an event to bring all the twins together.

“This unique presence of twins prompted the management to have a special day for them. All the 28 twins participated,” said Mahesh, a spokesman.

Each set of twins were seen wearing matching and colourful outfits.

However, having so many twins in the school has its own problems. Many teachers say that they sometimes have trouble identifying kids in the class.

“Some of these twins are identical ones, so teachers are left in the lurch a lot of the time as they can’t tell who’s who,” said Mahesh, who also teaches at the school.

“But we have now gotten used to these kids. And many of them are non identical twins, so that helps.”

The authorities clarify that they don’t have any special policies in place to attract twins. They believe that twins coming to Cramford is a mere coincidence.

“Whenever twins are born in Chittoor and surrounding areas, their parents invariably think of Camford School. It has now become more of a local sentiment,” he said.
