This woman beat her husband for getting the wrong candy and flowers on Mother's day

Virginia Stewart, 42, allegedly beat her husband with her fists and a coat hanger during an argument that stretched from Saturday until Sunday morning.

She was arrested at 8:02am Sunday at her Holmes Beach home, police wrote in a probable cause affidavit first reported by the Smoking Gun.

'The defendant entered into a domestic relate argument with the victim concerning the defendant's child and the victim getting her the wrong flowers and candy for mother's day,' police wrote.  

According to police, Stewart's husband's face was visibly bruised when officers responded to the couple's house. 

Police also observed that she threw cups around the room during the argument.  

Stewart was charged with simple battery and booked into the Manatee County Jail. She was released Monday on $750 bail.
