Saudi hospital apologizes for leaving scissors in patient's belly



The General Directorate of Health Affairs in Hail, Saudi Arabia, on Friday issued a
statement apologizing for one of their doctors who forgot scissors inside the belly of the patient during the process of surgery. 


The health department offered apologies for what happened to the patient, and would like to make it clear that once the flag that has been raised about the serious event investigation into the causes of the happening and circumstances surrounding it was launched. 

The statement also said that all those medical doctors who participated in this error  have been prevented from traveling until the investigation is completed, so as to confirm the health and safety of patient.

 The statement further stressed that the doctor was a  newcomer of Egyptian national.





Mohammed Suleiman Al-Haiti, the patient said that he suffers from several chronic diseases, including blood pressure, diabetes and cirrhosis.

He was admitted three months ago to King Khalid Hospital (where the incident happened), in Hail to undergo full medical check-ups over the saturation of his body fluids till the chest area.

The patient claimed that the Arab doctor made him sign a document in English and told him that he would undergo a second surgery to clean his belly, in an attempt to cover-up on the medical blunder.
