While many people are saddened about the new pump price because of the hardship it would cause to the masses, other people are saying Nigerians should have allowed the former President, Goodluck Jonathan to have removed the petrol subsidy in 2012, when he wanted to.
They instead protested in the popular #OccupyNigeria gathering where the nation was on lockdown for many days.
The price would have been 120 Naira.
Nigerians are already gearing up for the second version of #OccupyNigeria
The National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, has vowed to stage a nationwide protest next week following the increase in petroleum pump price and removal of oil subsidy. NANS President, Tijani Shehu, told newsmen that their organization is already mobilizing Nigerian students to resist the new N145 per litre pump price of petrol.
Senator Dino Melaye, who was one of the major players in the last protest, also shared this on his Facebook page.
