Now, this is great news for me because having just embarked on a LCHF (Low Carb High Fat) diet, that's gist for another day.
How did I find out Shea Butter is edible?
So, I have been using Shea Butter for a few weeks now on my skin and hair and like the feel and look of my body. I then ran out of stock.
I had bought a large piece of Shea Butter a few days ago (on Sunday January 31, t be precise) and felt like it was fake. One of the reasons was because of how it looked.
First, it looked very dirty and felt like it had particles in it when applied on my palms.
As soon as I had the time today, I went back to the seller. He was quite rude and I decided to show him another side of me.
At that point when my voice was raised, his colleagues, other market women like 4 of them came immediately to douse the argument.
I went with another sample that a colleague bought for me yesterday. Pictures are below:
Long story short, I found out that the one my colleague bought had been mixed and I had initially bought the original Shea Butter.
In the process of explaining the market woman then told me that she would never eat the other Shea Butter my colleague bought because it had been mixed. With that, she cut a bit of this 'dirty' Shea Butter into her mouth.
In fact, here's a recipe: Hot boiled yam and Shea Butter! Just allow the Shea butter melt on the yam and enjoy. Wow!
I decided to do a bit of research and saw that Shea Butter is not only anti-oxidant when consumed, but also an essential fatty acid.

| The dirty looking butter. Why didn't you check it at first, you may ask? I wonder too. Thankfully, the matter was settled amicably and I have a new Shea Butter supplier. |
