The WFP team distributed metric tons high-energy biscuits, salt, beans, sorghum and oil. Between the 4th of January and the 13th of February, fourteen boats, each holding around 80 people, have arrived at Baga Sola, up to 3,200 people.

Photos: Nigerian refugees receive solace and support after a 10-hour boat journey to Chad
According to WFP, on the afternoon of February 8, the WFP team received a call from Baga Sola, a fishing village in Chad's Lake region, close to the Nigeria border. It was to advise of the arrival of 86 Nigerian refugees. They fled their country by boat, tormented by the recent escalation of violence. Their journey? 10 hours across Lake Chad from Kangalam, another village on the Chadian coast and their home for two weeks before deciding to come to Baga Sola in search of help and protection.
