Wow: This Australian woman had her own cesarean childbirth!

Gerri Wolfe, an Australian woman has delivered her own twin babies by cesarean section. In a procedure known as 'maternal assisted cesarean section' ,  41-year-old Gerri, on December 22, 2014,  reached into her belly and lifted her twins out.

It happened at the  John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle, New South Wales and she has named the children Matilda and Violet.

Doctors made the incision in the woman’s belly as in a normal caesarean, but she reached in with her own hands and scooped the children out by herself.

Despite objections from her doctors and bemusement from her partner she went ahead with the procedure. after saying it's her body, it's her birth, it's her baby.

                                Mrs Wolfe said it was a wonderfully personal moment - just as if she had a natural birth. 'This was much more personal,' she said

                                 First Mrs Wolfe brought Matilda up to her chest, and a minute later Violet joined her

                                    Matilda was born at 3.04kg, while Violet was 2.54kg. Gerri stayed in hospital a week afterwards to recover

                                   Matilda and Violet are the tenth and eleventh children of Ms Wolf
