A baby born aboard Buraq Air gets free lifetime tickets

A baby boy was born on a flight from Libya to Niger and has been given a lifetime of free Buraq Air flights, according to media reports. Some websites have wrongly reported it as Nigeria instead of Niger.


The not-so-common circumstances of the his birth earned him exclusive travel, and a name — his mother named her son Abdul Biasset, after the Libyan plane’s captain, when flight crew members assisted with the surprise birth of her son, CNN reports.

Last month, another baby was born up in the air, on a Cebu Pacific flight en route to Manila, Philippines. The airline awarded the girl, named Haven, 1 million air miles.

It’s not clear the spot along the route Abdul Biasset was delivered.

Nigeria, an African country on the Gulf of Guinea, has many natural landmarks and wildlife reserves. Niger, officially the Republic of Niger, is one of the Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs) in Western Africa, named after the Niger River.
