Rare: Identical female triplets born on August 1 have painted toenails to tell them apart

These medical wonders, identical triplet girls, already have painted toenails.


The Oregonian/OregonLive reported Thursday  that's the only way their parents can tell them apart.

19-year-old high school sweethearts and first-time parents, Amber Hills and her fiance Logan Fletcher welcomed identical girl triplets Raelyn, Avery and Elaina on Monday.

The infants were delivered at 33 weeks by Cesarean section and are in the neonatal intensive care unit. They could come home next month.

The triplets' neonatologist, Dr. Craig Novack, says the odds of such a birth are one in a million.
