Lagos State Blood Transfusion Service receives 120 pints of blood from Rotary Club of Lagos

The Lagos State Blood Transfusion Services recently got a boost with 120 pints of blood from the Rotary Club of Lagos Palmgrove Estate during its yearly blood donation camp at Palmgrove, Lagos.

The President of the club, Tarun Sanghvi, described the turnout of donors as very impressive. The project was sponsored by Green Fuel Limited.

He commended the donors for doing good to others and themselves.  “ People who shy away from such exercise simply because of their erroneous notion of its implications, miss the derivable benefits, which include their heart regenerating fresh blood after donation”, he added; saving lives of about four people with one pint of blood and the honour for donating what cannot be manufactured in any factory on humanitarian ground to assist the less-privileged.

He gave criteria for donation as men from 18 years, weighing 50 kilogrammes after blood pressure and sugar level successful screening.

The Assistant Governor, Rotary International, District 9110, Rotary Club of Lagos Palmgrove Estate, Eboigbe Eti-osa Olaye praised the club for the exercise.
