A 1-year-old girl managed to call 911 after her mother allegedly fell into a drugged stupor, police have said.
The Tulsa, Oklahoma Sheriff's Office was dispatched to a home after someone there called 911 but only answered the operator with gurgling sounds.
When they arrived in the home, authorities say they discovered 30-year-old Danielle Owen in a "deep sleep" in the bedroom. At her bedside was a playpen that held her 1-year-old daughter.
Police say they found drug accessories and a large number of used syringes in the room, KOTV reports.
There was trash all over the house, rotting food, mice and even bottles of urine, cops said in their report. There was allegedly no fresh food in the home for the child.
According to the report, Owen allegedly admitted to methamphetamine use but said she'd fed the girl Cheerios.
Police said they believe the little girl somehow got to her mother's phone and dialed 911.
"When I told Danielle this, she started crying and said, 'This was a miracle from God and a wake-up call for me that I have to stop doing drugs and clean up my life," the arresting officer said in a report.
The little girl is in Owen's mother's custody. Owen is due in court August 30.
