Michigan courthouse under lockdown after shooting kills 3

At least three people have died following a shooting at a Michigan courthouse.

Three people are dead and one person is injured, said the employee, who wished not to be named. Michigan State Police confirmed the shooting around 2:30 p.m. Monday at Berrien County.

Two of the people dead are court bailiffs. The other person dead is the shooter,  an employee told USA today.

State police are yet to confirm those numbers nor the status of the shooter.

The employee at the prosector's office said the courthouse is under lockdown, and employees are being kept in their offices.

A county commissioner told Local news station WZZM that the shooter was a man on his way to jail when he grabbed a deputy's gun and started shooting.

Michigan Gov. Rick Syder tweeted that the scene has been secured.

More details later.
