Miami children's hospital was shut down fior several hours after bomb threat

Police say they evacuated a Miami children's hospital for several hours after a possible bomb threat.

A news release from the Miami-Dade Police Department says for safety reasons, officers evacuated Nicklaus Children's Hospital after receiving a call just before 3 p.m (7 p.m GMT) on Friday with talks of a possible bomb threat and shooting.

Police reported over social media about three hours after the initial call that officers had carried out a preliminary search and found no active shooter or explosive devices at the hospital.

By 8 p.m (12 a.m GMT), the police concluded there was no suspicious activity and the hospital was allowed to return to regular operations.
