A glass ceiling is an invisible barrier that keeps women - from rising beyond a certain level in a hierarchy or professional career. The metaphor was first coined by feminists in reference to barriers in the careers of high-achieving women.
The second highest glass ceiling so far, has been broken as Hillary Clinton has been announced the first female major party nominee for president of America on Tuesday for the Democratics.
The highest would be her actually becoming the president of the United States. It would do so much to boost the confidence level of women, the world over!
Go girl!
