Two American Hall of Famers have died on the same day. Earlier on, it was reported that NBA all-star Nate Thurmond had passed on.

Bonnie Brown, a 2015 inductee into the Country Music Hall of Fame as one of the three sweet-voiced siblings , The Browns, died Saturday afternoon at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas, due to complications from lung cancer.

Bonnie Jean Brown was born July 31, 1938 in Sparkman, Arkansas. She came from a musical family: older siblings Jim Ed and Maxine Brown performed together.

When she graduated from high school, they took her on the road as a graduation gift. "What was a graduation gift for Bonnie turned out to be a gift for country music fans around the world," the announcer, Eddie Stubbs said.

The duo became a trio as Bonnie joined her brother and sister behind the microphone, and in 1956, their recording of "I Take the Chance" hit No. 2 on the country charts.

The Browns helped to write the book on trio harmony singing in the world of country music.
