The Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki and his team, earlier today visited the 'Nurses village' where more than 500 aged sick, vulnerable women and malnourished children rescued by the Nigerian Army from Sambisa Forest, are admitted for treatment by the Borno state Government.

This visit was paid by the Senate President as he travelled to Borno state to condole the people of the state over the death of Alh. Shettima Ali Monguno and Alhaji Garba Abba Satomi.
Dr Saraki and his entourage were received at the Maiduguri International Airport by Governor Kashim Shettima and they first went to the Shehu of Borno's palace (Alhaji Dr Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai El-Kanemi) where they condoled him over the death of Alh. Shettima Ali Monguno and Alhaji Garba Abba Satomi.

While commenting about the visit on social media, he said:
"A few months ago, the baby in my arms arrived at the IDP Camp malnourished and sickly. Months later, due to the efforts of the State Government at that IDP Camp, yesterday, I was pleased to see that the baby and her family are doing much better.
"It is my hope that once the North East Development Commission (NEDC) - which has gone through its Third and Final Reading in the Senate - is passed and signed into law, it will help to create a sustainable future for our younger generation."
