One year after the deadly flood which swept through Accra in 2015, another wave of downpour has hit the city and it's not looking good.
The flood which has reached waist-level, has enveloped the city of Accra in Ghana. It's now blackouts for Ghanaians as The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has shut down its power station at Dzorwulu due to the high levels of flowing rain water.
The company in an alert issued on Thursday June 9, said the move is a precautionary measure.

Areas in Accra affected by the shutdown included Pig farm, Abelemkpe, Dzorwulu and its environs. Several parts of Accra have been submerged in flood waters following hours of heavy rain on Thursday. the rain fell at intervals from 4am till 8pm this evening.
Places like the Kwame Nkrumah Circle, Kaneshie, Adabraka, Awoshie and Tema among others, were some of the worst affected areas.
There is a bit of division amongst the citizens, on the real cause of the floods. Some say it's the government, others say it is the people and their unhygienic lifestyle.
