Nomahlubi Mbulu, 49 needs help to take proper care of her disabled kids.
Nomahlubi from Crossroads, Cape Town said her son Sibusiso Keyisi (21) suffers from celebral palsy and epilepsy.
The mother of four said Sibusiso is in a wheelchair, uses disposable nappies and survives on cereal and other soft food.
She said her son’s disability grant is not enough to take of him, as a pack of 10 nappies costs R100 and Sibusiso uses three nappies a day.
The distraught mum said she struggles to deal with the unmanageable skin rash all over Sibusiso’s body.
Adding to Nomahlubi’s woes is her disabled daughter Lilitha (13). Lilitha suffers from epilepsy, autism and hyperactivity. She has now been admitted to Lentegeur Psychiatric Hospital in Mitchells Plain but Nomahlubi worries that if her daughter is released, she will return to their life of struggle.
The mum is appealing for help because she is tired of empty promises. “Many social workers and councillors have come to my house, only to make empty promises,” she said.
