Young Nigerian killed by Latino husband, topless body wheeled around in trolley in New York

New York cops have busted a “career criminal” who allegedly used a trolley to cart his wife’s corpse along the waterfront in Staten Island on Friday morning.

Anthony Lopez, 31, a member of the notorious Bloods gang, was apprehended in Harlem on Saturday, and charged with murder and felony concealment of a corpse shortly afterwards.

Prior to his arrest, locals had watched on with alarm as Lopez carted a blood-splattered metal dolly with a long, wrapped object resting on top, heading in the direction of a river.

Cops were soon called to the scene, prompting Lopez to flee.

One of the officers reportedly recognised Lopez because he had arrested him in the past.

According to the NYPD, Lopez has a long criminal history that includes 52 arrests and domestic violence cases.

When confronted by cops, Lopez bolted, leaving his wife Obiamaka Aduba’s corpse in the front yard of a small brick house.

NYPD detectives say the Blood went on the run for 24 hours, shaving his noticeable dreadlocks in a bid to avoid detection, but was arrested in Manhattan on Saturday.

According to officials, Lopez's wife’s body showed signs of blunt force trauma, including a bloody nose and marks on her neck.

Aduba was wrapped in a sheet and had bruising on her body, though it was not immediately clear if the marks had anything to do with her death.

In an interview with the New York Post, a local resident said the woman, 26, appeared to have been strangled.

The neighbour also said Aduba was topless when she was recovered.

Expressing their distress, one of Aduba's unnamed neighbours told the New York Post: “We’re all very upset — what happened is terrible.
“Right now, we are grieving.”
The cause of death remains undetermined.
