The Borno State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has said it had uncovered a prostitution ring in Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camps in the state.
Speaking in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Maiduguri, the state commandant of the NSCDC, Ibrahim Abdullahi, has vowed to stop the activities of the ring and curb the menace of prostitution among IDPs in the state.
This is just as the commandant assured that the elements involved in this prostitution ring will be brought to face the law.
According to him: “You know that these IDPs can easily be lured by criminals because of the situation they found themselves.
“The command is, therefore, vigilant and will leave no stone unturned to bringing the culprits to book.
“We have drafted our men to all the strategic locations in the state capital to check such nefarious activities and anybody caught would be made to face the wrath of the law.
“We therefore call on all patriotic citizens of Borno to report such activities going on around them.”
