Polio: UNICEF urges Nigeria to improve on antenatal care

While speaking with the Journalists Against Polio (JAP) , the new Sokoto State UNICEF Lead, Duma Mamba commended the media for their sustained  awareness creation on the dangers of the Polio

He noted that Nigeria has recorded  appreciable record in the fight against polio. He added that the country should not however relent because its name has been removed from polio endemic countries.

According to him, Nigerians should now give the needed attention towards improving its Primary Health Centres (PHCs).

UNICEF insisted that Nigeria should now focus on other health issues of equal concern such as antenatal, and infant mortality as well as promotion of delivery in the nation’s institutions.
