Pictured: Mother who compulsively pulls her hair out in her SLEEP is now almost bald

She says her habit affects her relationship with children Christian, now 18, Taylour , now 13, and Sofia, now 5. She has never been swimming with her children and says 'While I don't have my own hair, I'm not me'

Mother-of-three Kelly Lacey, 36, often wakes up with her hands covered in blood, after yanking out her hair during the night. She has suffered the condition known as trichotillomania for 25 years.

She has a huge bald patch on the back of her head and must wear a wig at all times to cover it.

She says the sexual abuse she suffered as a child has left her traumatised – and now pulling clumps of hair out is her only relief.

She has tried counselling to rid her of the habit, but it didn't work, and so is raising money for a permanent wig which will stop her from picking at her scalp and allow her hair to grow back.
'People say to me, "Why don't you just stop?" but if it was that easy, I would,' she said.

'I just pull it out from the roots. Sometimes, I wake up and I am doing it and I don't even realise. It's so automatic.'

Kelly Lacey, 36, has been pulling her own hair out in her sleep for the past 25 years is now terrified she will end up completely bald

Currently, Miss Lacey, a healthcare assistant of Watton, Norfolk wears a heavy-weight 16inch wig, and has one blonde and one brown one.
Although she sleeps with it on, she is still able to get to her natural hair and pull at it.

Trichtillomania is a condition where sufferers are compelled to tear their hair out

The wig can also blow off in the wind, revealing her balding head.

Her partner Lee Allars, 36, has only ever seen her without the hairpiece once.
