Kim Kardashian is officially getting recognized for her contributions to the internet.

Early last Wednesday morning, the brains behind the 2016 Webby Awards announced the 35-year-old reality show star will be the first-ever person to accept an award for breaking the internet, today May 16.

The award is being presented to Kim "in recognition of her unprecedented success online and the bold and creative ways she has used the Internet, social media, apps and video to connect with a truly global audience," according to a press release.

In the past year alone, Kim pretty much dominated the world with her app, Kim Kardashian: Hollywood. With a staggering 69.9 million followers on her Instagram and a little over 45 million followers on Twitter, it's clear why she deserves the award.

Her fans literally go berserk over a photo of her children and if she's posting any beauty tips then forget about it.

But let's not stop with social media, perhaps her photoshoot with Paper Magazine might have helped.
