Body of 60-year-old woman found in bed box as husband goes missing

The decomposed body of a 60-year-old woman was found inside the box of a double bed in north east Delhi’s Sonia Vihar on Saturday morning.


The woman has been identified as Meena Kumar. Her husband, Rakesh, had been missing since the incident and was the main suspect in the case, the police said.

The incident came to light after the neighbours complained of foul smell emanating from the house. A  call was made and the police team broke open the door to find the woman’s body inside the box.

Apparently Kumari had been murdered at least three days ago. The body has been sent for an autopsy.

Neighbours said that, Kumari was suffering from different ailments and her husband Rakesh used to argue with her over the amount of money he had to spend on her treatment. A case of murder has been registered against Rakesh.
