Nandini, 19, who goes only by her initial name, welcomed her first child, a daughter, by cesarean section on Monday evening at a government-run hospital in Hassan in southern state Karnataka. The average baby is born weighing 7.5lbs - making Nadinis newborn female twice the size. SEE CATERS COPY.

Nandini, 19, (thankfully) welcomed her first child by cesarean section on Monday evening, the yet-to-be named baby girl weighs an enormous 15lbs!



The average baby is born weighing 7.5lbs – making Nadini’s newborn female is twice the size of a normal female.



Dr Venkatesh Raju, the local health officer, said: ‘In my 25 years of experience, I had never seen such a big baby. She is a miracle.

‘I believe she is not only the heaviest baby born in India but the heaviest baby girl ever born in the world.’

She was welcomed at a government-run hospital in Hassan in southern state Karnataka, India
