The governor has appointed new people to replace the commissioners and special advisers who resigned to contest elections into several offices in the state.
Chief Mbam was replaced by Chief Boniface Chima, who was sworn in by the governor yesterday. Mbam was appointed Chief of Staff by Dr. Sam Egwu, former Governor of Ebonyi State, between 1999 and 2003 while Elechi appointed him SSG in his cabinet.
The governor also mandated Chukwuma Nwandugo, Commissioner for Works and Transport, to oversee the Department of Petroleum, Pricing and Distribution. The for Inter-Party dialogue, Comrade Jonah Egba, will head the Grants and Donor Agency and will also be in charge of Economic Empowerment and Poverty Reduction; while the Commissioner for Environment, Chief David Egbu, was reassigned to the department of Solid Minerals.
