After meeting with the family of one of the Charlie Hebdo victims, senior French police officer leading the team investigating the Charlie Hebdo magazine massacre killed himself just hours after the terror attack according to France 3.
45-year-old Commissioner Helric Fredou, shot himself in his police office and his body was found by a colleague about 1am the next morning. Colleagues told France 3 he was single and had no children, describing him as “depressed” and overworked.
Commissioner Fredou had been the deputy director of the regional police since 2012 after beginning his career as a police officer in 1997.
